I have no jewels, no pearls, no gold.
I’ve neither silk nor treasure.
No employees wait on my words,
No servants at my leisure.
There are no wings within my home,
The rooms are small and tired.
The furnishings bring no delight,
The decor’s uninspired.
Though goods and riches are not mine
My life bears some good tiding.
A bright smile spreads as I recall
The chocolate bar I’m hiding.
